About

Shari Bennett-Jackson.jpg

A bit about my singing background:  I started singing before I could speak but started taking voice lessons at 10 years old.  This carried into high school through a program called the Young Musician’s Program held at UC Berkeley and eventually I went to college for music.  I have a Bachelor of Music (Vocal Performance) degree from the California State University, Stanislaus where I trained as a Coloratura Soprano and appeared as the Queen of the Night in Townsend Opera Player's production of  Mozart’s “The Magic Flute”.  Because of my classical music background, I am enjoy blending opera and hip-hop/r&b in my original music and covers.  See my 'Empire" cover as an example.

Hey, I'm Shari and I'd like to welcome you to my website.  I'm a classically trained R&B vocalist, songwriter, elementary school music teacher, vocal coach and dreamer. I have one mission:  to dream with my eyes wide open and inspire others to do the same!  I'm a former IT Account Executive and I left the corporate world after 5 years of sales so that I can do something that is gratifying and fulfilling to me:  share the magic of music as a performing singer, and help other singers ranging from beginners to more experienced singers who also have big music dreams like me by offering free singing tips, and online voice lessons. If you'd like to learn more about my vocal journey,  click here.

I love to perform!  I have performed at weddings, private parties and events all over the bay area, including Oakland's annual Taste of Oakland Festival,  Vallejo’s Unity Day and Christmas Tree Lighting, Vacaville’s Merriment on Main, Yoshi’s Jazz Club in Oakland, and more. Additional performance highlights include singing with Grammy Award Winning Artist Gabi Wilson (H.E.R), opening for Tony! Toni! Toné! as a lead vocalist for R&B cover band CISUM, sharing the stage with American Idol finalist Donnie Williams and opening for Nina Sky & Pitbull.

I really appreciate you taking the time to check out my website.  As a thank you I've put together this free guide on how to warm up your voice.  Download it here.
